Shortening .22 Cz 452 Barrel

Alright lads I'm considering shortening my .22 CZ 452 Barrel and was wondering what you would consider a useful length before the disadvantages out way the benefits?!

They come from the factory with a 16" so id stick with that. Although my gunsmith suggests a 14" barrel works well.

Guess depends on twist rate, if cz make them as carbine at 16" I wouldn't go less than that

Haha I've got a CZ 452 that's also a deadicated left hander seeing as I'm a cack hander, I've had it for a bit just haven't bothered posting about it.

It looks lovely sitting with the SuperTens and the Mossberg in the gun cabinet!

Had mine done to 16" from 22 and works just as well but much Faster to shoulder

I've had one done in the past to 13 inch because of damage , make sure you use a competant Gunsmith , with the CZ and tha Anschutz they zero just as good with 13 inch as with 22 inch , the only difference some might notice is they jump a little more because you dont have the barrel weight holding it stable

 

Hence why a target barrel weighs a ton

I could do with my cz 452 shortening its 22 inch I think, its a bit awkward shooting from the 4x4, was quoted 90 quid by brock and norris, its deadly accurate just hope it stays like that

Have you thought of trading it in and getting one with a shiny new 16" barrel .

mines 16" , plus the mod , this adds another 6" on , so your back to your 22" barrel again .

I'm getting mine cut to 14 or 16 inch and then putting on a DM80 reflex silencer to keep it short

I advise you to trade your 452 for a new/used CZ American LH 16".

I'm also left handed (doh), the cost of getting it cut down & re-proofed etc is hardly worth the effort

and you could end up with a brand new rifle for similar money.

All good advice here lads and I'm tending to lean towards trading the rifle in for a shorter one.

Only trouble is CZ don't make LH in 16", so it would have to be a used one that someone else had cut down. And you don't have to have it proofed unless you intend to sell it.

 

I'm a leftie and wanted a CZ452 american in synthetic stock and 16" barrel. Nearest I could buy new was a wooden stock and 20 something inches. I'm going to get it cut to 16".
