Casso 1,261 Posted August 30, 2014 Report Share Posted August 30, 2014 To be honest with ya wilf and I can only speak for myself , I'm 47 now and never had permission for anything hunting wise , hunting all my life not into shooting though, although a friend an x legionare shoots most weekends in season on his permission but can't get licence through from the local police maybe something to do with his background, what I'm saying is that once your not making a nuisance of yourself , you can get on with your hunting without much notice , common sence and respect for the land goes a long way I'm only sixty miles from mayor city Dublin and folk round here have good time for the local hunt never seen any antis here,, ,,,,yet 2 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

stripes 401 Posted August 30, 2014 Report Share Posted August 30, 2014 Yes wilf, permission goes along way if your doing the lurcher ,terrier end of things, most areas are all taken up with gun clubs ,,not only will they shoot pheasant pidgeon, ducks, they also control a lot of vermin work, most clubs would use hounds,, big areas of cover here wilf. you should be able to get your guns covered by the local garda, i dont shoot myself so not up on gun laws,, much the same as uk. stripes 401 Posted August 31, 2014 Report Share Posted August 31, 2014 Are pigeons on a general license out there (if such a thing exists)......same for corvids etc ? yes wilf they are, river fishing you will need a license ,even if your not fishing for salmon the bailiffs will assume you are, rod license needed with a permit to fish certain rivers, rock or beach fishing saltwater your ok without unless your fishing for sea trout, general license ok for pidgeon but there are times when you can and cant shoot them, hope this helps wilf. 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
