Myxomatosis Much Where You Are?

My pup will be nine months on sept 1st. This week hes caught 5 rabbits, but the last 3 have had myxomatosis. The last one he caught was in a right state.(pic below) I know its not going to do the pup any harm, (its all experience.) But this is the first time myxomatosis seen it badly around the north Bristol area for a while.

 

How does this compare with everyone else? Are you experiencing much myxomatosis.

not seen any for couple of seasons now but its only this year the rabbit numbers are up so we shal wait and see

Yep thats the same for me, first year of rabbit numbers being up in over 4 years and then the dreaded returns.

Sad to see it especially for the ferreting and lamping folk. .we don't usually get it until October onwards but my bitch got 1 just now looked like it was recovering but under weight and full of open sores..

I'm out 7 days a week for pest control and have seen more in Cheshire this last 6 weeks than any other year previously, same on the Wirral, we had a dry summer that had them breeding like mad and then a wet spell that put them to ground in numbers letting the infected fleas spread their death sentence, shame really but great if you're bringing on any pups, I have a 10 month old lurcher that's into good numbers now thanks to myxie, nowt to do but cull every infected one you can, atb, WM

No myxi round here because there's no rabbits for it to affect. I've got a 12 month old pup to get going on the lamp too and it's not good having nowt to run.

All wiped out local to me ,all my permission is in Cheshire.....TC you have just sentenced me to a sleepless night not seen a myxi rabbit on our permissions the last 4 yrs

Merseyside gets hit bad with mixy every year,sefton has had it really bad as a mate has caught around 40 rabbits already so whats died naturally as well as what other people have caught
