I went to the Anglia Cup , think it was 2003 , at Hillboro , never seen so many hares as that , they couldn't get the dogs in slips quick enough , Sir Mark Presscott , ran his expensive purchase , Pop Concert , the dog got out run , ran into a wood and appeared with a roe in his jaws .................as Presscott took a long pull on a big cigar he looked at me and said " That dog doesn't know it yet but that was a very defining moment in his career !! ".

When we were there Ted Walsh was halfway up on a rise with his camera on a tripod.A brace of dogs were slipped and a covey of partridges were flushed under their feet, the white collar leapt up and caught the partridge, but forfeited the run up, and the course.

some good reading in this thread. did any ex track dogs do any good at coarsing?

John Bromiley the Greyhound Coursing trainer had a dog in kennels called Peasedown Erin ,it pulled down every time it ran, often on the run up. It had a wonderful gob and was an ex tracker that had been barred for turning it's head, we tried to get a lining off it on to a lurcher bitch, the fee was very reasonable but the dog wouldn't go for it, we ended up using Straw Silks.

I remember John talking about that dog Inan, if I remember right though it did line a few bitches...

John judged the East Of England Lurcher show one year, I was his steward. He's a good judge of confirmation and gave everyone there money's worth.

I and" Rangers Man ,"who sometimes comes on here were catching up dogs for him at the Anglia Cup in Swaffham a couple of decades ago.I'm not into showing but I remember many moons ago, he had an old fashioned Norfolk type of lurcher called Isaac, it won just about everything in the ring.

I remember Isaac, he had it at open stud for a while, smart looker.

He used to come to the old Wigan club's meetings if he was up this end, his mum lived in Ormskirk. I remember asking him if he fancied a night's lamping with Isaac, he asked me where and in my ignorance I replied 'anywhere', he gracefully declined....

Has anyone heard of collie greyhounds doing 3 out of 3 in winter?

Dranny, I've always kept fast lurchers and have had a few 3/4 bred collie/ greys do 3/3, not hancock collie crosses, gave a bitch to a young lad last year aged 5yrs that was deerhound/ greyhound X collie/greyhound sired over a beddy/greyhound bitch that couldn't leave them alone, seen her do 3 in 23 min on good winter hares, had 5 that day, all single handed, bought her as a pup in Hereford to use ferreting but kept disappearing every time I turned my back, I work a lot of estate land ferreting and she was a liability for me, best thread in a long time, thanks Max, Tomo, Inan, etc for bringing back some memories of coursing meets and the waterloo cup, etc, best days of our lives at the time and we never realised it, atb, WM
