colliejohn 840
I was talking to one of my mates who has a greyhound bitch in pup to a coursing whippet and we were wondering if the smaller rabbiting lurchers ' whippets' and whippet crosses will become more popular and if people will turn to the smaller rabbiting dogs more to stay the right side of the shit law . Nobby. SMALL LURCHERS WILL BE NO GOOD FOR BIG STUFF not everybody is into big stuff, the thread started was on the popularity of small rabbiting lurchers and the future of them in lurcher work. regards collie john. Guest mush
This is just IMO , small whippet lurchers are good for catching when out bushing or maybe ratting but as far as every-thing else goes a medium size lurcher will do it just as good and most of the time better, as well as taking other stuff a small lurcher would have a hard time taking. jonathan 0
some people say that a bull x is a good all rounder but i think a collie x is more of a all rounder best of luck pal, i said the same thing last week, and the bull cross lads on this site took offence, but i agree with you.regards collie john. bull cross are good on things that bite back but not as a ferreting dog are for rabbiting Quote Link to post

colliejohn 840
Ferrets you talk BULLSHIT... you need to get out and see some bull x's work proper ones , not ones where people have them kenneled up and just go out killing foxes with them, ones where poeple have put time into them have you ever seen a bull x work? jay this debate has got into bull crosses, the thread not about bullcrosses and how they perform in the field, but about small lurcher types.it seems anyone who owns and works small lurcher types is frowned upon. regards collie john. Fed up off hearing bull x this and bullx that why can't a smaller dog i.e beddyx do it in the field just because they mainly used for rabbiting does'nt mean they can't have a go at fox. terriers were bred into lurchers because of their grit and determination. most terriers face off against fox week in weekout. i don't know alot but i know enough to know you shouldn't underestimate other dogs. :realmad: Quote Link to post
