Ruster 9
I have got a bit of a dilemma going on in my brain, i think i have made a decision but would like the opinions of the forum members before i make it final. Currently in my gun cabinet is a Browning ultra xs prestige, a Browning bps and a Benelli raffaello super black eagle 2 camo. Now what i am thinking is that benelli looks a bit out of place amongst the Brownings, i haven't really taken a shine to it even though it is a great gun, i think i am a Browning man so i am going to replace it with a Browning A5. From what i can tell both are inertia driven, both are multi choke, both are from high end manufacturers, both are known to cycle effortlessly, both can take up to 3 1/2" cartridges, the only difference really is the name and I'm sure they will handle differently unless i have missed anything. So which would you pick and why? Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
More to the point what are you going to use it for? Personally I'd pick the Browning ultra xs prestige as I only want a double barrelled gun. That appearance in yourt list suggests you want a gun for clays. If that's the case, then that's the one as most shoots frown on semi-auto from a safety pov. There's also some argument to say that semi-auto can distract if it ejects the cartridge against the stand. If on the other hand you're rough shooting, I'd still go double barreled but something like a B525 / 725. A high end gun like the XS demands a bit too much care for walking through bushes. Some might suggest semi-auto here, but again for 1 extra shot, hardly seems worth it and again some formal shoots don't like semi-auto. If you're wildfowling, then 3 1/2 semi-auto comes into its own. Bigad 136
Why don't you sign the Benelli over to me and I'll look after it for free ? Quote Link to post
Ruster 9
Alsone I already have the XS and I use it for clays, the bps I have and got it because I wanted a pump action, I might do a bit of rough shooting with it but it's mainly because I wanted it I also already have the SBE2 The question is if I am going to replace the SBE2 with an A5. It will he used for rough shooting and a bit of wild fowling lol bigad I will if you have a A5 for me to "look after" haha Edited August 27, 2014 by Ruster Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
Sorry Ruster, misread the question. No hands on experience with the A5 or Benelli. Quote Link to post
