M (8) Hexnuts.........

Recommended Posts

Went to wilkos today to clear them out of m10 hexnuts, but somebody had beat me to it!! So decided to grab a little bag (£1.99) of m eight hexnuts instead...... Driving back I stopped at the farm to have a look about. Spotted a magpie in an ash tree about 12m away. Managed to take a shot out the van window and dropped him easily, so m eight defo do the job on feather if you can't get m10's.....

Just checked online sources - they aint cheap, are they ? :icon_eek:

make sure what your looking at isn't stainless steel mate, as they are a lot more expensive

If you had a metal bar (of the correct diameter), could you just cut off discs of the right width, or does the hole in the centre of the nut help it's flight ?

Yeah you can get reed bar, then just cut it to desired lengths...... If you cut the ends on an angle there absolutely lethal!

So don't cut it square ?
you can cut it square and it will be fine, but if cut on an angle will be devastating on impact

You know, I've got a blacksmiths shop and never thought about round bar for ammo !!! :icon_eek: Does it fly true not being spherical?

yeah mate, just don't make it too long, I reckon about 20mm in length

20mm length would be far too long, 10mm dia mild steel bar would work well if cut short enough. personally i'd stick with nuts for the price of them.
