nothernlite 18,089
Going to be honest here bought the first one and was very disapointed with it after all the hype it had on here good pictures but the reading was poor jmo no disrespect to JD Link to post
RossM 8,147
Of dogs & deer closely followed by scooby my favourites, they give you the feeling that you were right there and make you want to just get out and do it. Hare & the swift hound has the same effect. The 'Passion for coursing' series is too interviewish IMO. 1 Link to post

Same here I liked the dog and deer, then scooby book but saying that I only read them two and and thats what I call lurcher work so cant really compare alot...... have to have a look out for the coursing one's Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
The thing is, I had a think on how to approach the PFC series and thought the interviews were the best way. Otherwise it would be a bit difficult. The way they are is the way the person answers, so none of it is lost in translation, and i've tried to ask questions that, i hope, would be relevant. You can't please everyone, but i thought it was the best way and, the more experience i get the better the coursing series will become.Hopefully. I'm trying to get everyones stories down as soon as I can as some of the old boys are sadly no longer with us.If anyone does have suggestions on improvements please drop me a pm....and all the best JD p.s, rough copy of the book here.... 18 Link to post

Don't get me wrong I've still read them, and it is what it is, it's still a good read, BUT I can put it down whereas with the others I just want to read on, fair play to you jonathong, you produce the goods across your range, covering ALL aspects of the game, I couldn't do it, it's not a criticism just personnel preference where we are all different, with the PFC range, how about opening each chapter/interview with the interviewees most memorable course, like the others, engrossing the reader then fading into the interview? As I said I couldn't do what you do and you do it well, hence why you are where you are and I'm here! 2 Link to post
