border lad 1,047 Posted August 26, 2014 Report Share Posted August 26, 2014 I have lived in South Africa, my experience would be saluki x would handle the hard ground better, than the deer-hound/greyhound x my experience with the deer/grey x they are ok for running in cold wet ground as we have here in the uk, + the real hard working scottish deerhound has gone only show pony left, it was a common breed back in the 60s thats 50 years back, you are better to take a punt at the american Staghound, they use them for cayotes, there is a couple of Lads who post on here now and again, best of luck, (((( for you I lived in Natal, and up in the Transvaal, 1 Quote Link to post
