Tiny 7 1,694
Thats it feed by eye and work load... I just freeze and feed whole the full lot. Feed as often as you want but variety is key don't forget rabbits low in fat so add fat and/or some carbs
beast 1,884
skinned and gutted, freeze for 3 days or more. one whole rabbit for a 50lb dog (roughly) and add more fat in cold weather or if the dog is in heavy work.

I assume you feed other stuff with the rabbit and not just a whole rabbit? My 40lb bitch will eat 2 rabbits, a pound of mince and a scoop of biscuits in one sitting regularly. Country Joe 1,411
I would not feed, heart, Liver, or lungs straight from a fresh Rabbit, you should freeze at least a week to kill tapeworm. i feed my dog a pound of Rabbit, plus three handfuls of a decent 20% complete, I don't believe you need to go higher in protein when feeding raw meat, if feeding raw Rabbit or Chicken i stick some beef dripping in the micro for a min and pour over, as rabbit and Chicken breast which I feed are low in fat.

Dewclaw69 484
cheers for the replies. he has a good mixed raw diet i'm getting more than enough rabbit for us and thought about giving the dog some. just wondered if there were any issues other than the low fat. he does get wormed regularly but i will freeze first now. thanks
