Forgive my ignorance but I thought I heard on the tv that a vote for independence was last held in the 70s , so does a no vote today mean NO or can it be rerun in the future until there's a yes vote ?

Unfortunately a lot of English are sick of hearing how England holds the Scottish back.   This vote has done nothing but fracture the union and Scotland.

I'm absolutely disgusted at the fighting in George square Glasgow yesterday, the whole of Scotland were given a choice and the choice was made, no one is any less a scot for voting no and no one is mo

I cant believe there are all these pages arguing who does this and who said that, at the end of the day either vote yes or no on the 18th, there is absolutely no need for all this hostility over it. J

The vote in the 70s was for devolution, not independence.

They can keep voting forever or until there is a yes vote, in the event of a no vote today, although Salmond has said if it is a no vote, he wouldn't want another vote for at least a "generation", however long that means.

They could allways declare UDI, ( universal Declaration of Independence ) , just as Ian Smith did in Rhodesia. But just look how that turned out; it went from "the bread basket of Africa", to the "basket case of Africa"' Zimbabwe !!!!

That's what was said on the show I see last week with George Galloway ,Sturgeon and a couple others , meaning that's what they said back in the 70s . So going by that they mean a generation is about 35 year's lol
