Unfortunately a lot of English are sick of hearing how England holds the Scottish back.   This vote has done nothing but fracture the union and Scotland.

I'm absolutely disgusted at the fighting in George square Glasgow yesterday, the whole of Scotland were given a choice and the choice was made, no one is any less a scot for voting no and no one is mo

I cant believe there are all these pages arguing who does this and who said that, at the end of the day either vote yes or no on the 18th, there is absolutely no need for all this hostility over it. J

I hope the no vote wins, I for one would like to stay part of th United kingdom, if it does win it won't make me any less Scottish, for Scotland to grasp independance they would need some of real leadership, ( not the wee fucktard that's in now) , and if it was properly thought out, there is to many unanswered questions, if it was put in place properly I think it would be a walk over, instead of a wee Easter egg on legs, trying to put his name in the history books

What assets go where, unless already written out under international law, will be determined by break up negotiations. But if the Scottish don't take any of the national debt in response to no currency union then I can't see why the UK Gov would give them any of our other assets, including military hardware. The Scottish would have to start from scratch.

The same goes for intelligence services. And that's not something you can take lightly!

One thing to bear in mind is that a secure Scotland is in UK interests. For the first time in 300 years a foreign state will have a land border with mainland UK, that basically gives any threats to the UK a backdoor to attack us! But having an already established military and intelligence services, and a VERY effective ones at that, if the UK government want to play hardball with a debt shirking Scotland I don't see why they couldn't.... ?

Also worth bearing in mind Scotlands entire defence force will consist of only 15'000 troops. That's total! So you will have gone from having a military with more capability than I care to list to one that has less than half the man power of the RAF alone!

Think your being a bit generous there BH I read it's actually 3,500 troops, 2000 support 12 typhoons and a couple hercules. Of these servicing personnel they will be given the option if they wish to remain serving within the UK's armed forces or go with an independent Scotland. The thing is they could have 12 Typhoon jets and no pilots to fly them if they all wished to remain in the RAF!!!

It's just a very poor joke really one that a fear will backfire not only on the Scottish people but on sadly on the UK aswell

The reality is without Scotland there is no Britain, without Britain there is little use for Scotland, even the majority of its ancestry that care little for living there,ie 007.Id hate to wake up without Scotland being part of GB,it would make GB less G.

The total MoD assets are alleged to be worth 100 billion pounds. Of which the Scots would probably be eligible to around 8 billions worth as they represent 8% of the UK population. That'd all be pending negotiations though.

The 15'000 personel figure isn't what they are due, it's what the SNP have said would be the likely size of the SDF.

What happens re post?

Currently Royal Mail subsidises deliveries in Scotland from cheaper runs in England

So what postage system will be put in place and how much will it cost? Guarantee postage prices will sky rocket

Salmond says he will nationalise Royal Mail/Post Office. Don't worry, he's got it all worked out ! Lol!
