IF Scotland votes "yes", then I hope it will be 100% independence , but it's not a forgone conclusion, as today's polls put it slightly in favour of the "no" vote. If Scotland DOES vote "yes" then I hope the future governments of rUK treat Scotland as a completely foreign country and don't leap in to bail out any future difficulties, as we did with the Irish banking crisis. Now, I hate Cameron with a passion, but today he was right when he said this is not a general election, where the Scots could give the Tories a f...cking kicking, and have another vote in five years time..... This is forever !!!

Unfortunately a lot of English are sick of hearing how England holds the Scottish back.   This vote has done nothing but fracture the union and Scotland.

I'm absolutely disgusted at the fighting in George square Glasgow yesterday, the whole of Scotland were given a choice and the choice was made, no one is any less a scot for voting no and no one is mo

I cant believe there are all these pages arguing who does this and who said that, at the end of the day either vote yes or no on the 18th, there is absolutely no need for all this hostility over it. J

I'm not a great believer in polls, for the simple reason, in my many years on this earth, no one has EVER polled me ! Not in person, on the phone or any other way, in fact none of my family have ever been polled as far as I know ! I think polls are made up by different sides simply to try and sway the undecided. It would be interesting to ask the 45000 members on here, how many of them have ever been polled about anything !

You don't seem to grasp it Joe, nato is principally a nuclear alliance. All the members support the combined nuclear deterent. Scotland will have taken action that reduces nato nuclear capability. The whole idea flies in the face of what nato is about. You want nato protection but will not offer Britain the capability to maintain its nato responsibilities. You want to intentionally hinder nato capability but still be under their official protection?

The only thing you have to offer is your geographical location which I don't see as' key' with the UK, Norway and Iceland being members.

ofcourse i do and i could quote experts saying different i.e most recent a former uk ambassador to the nuclear based defence alliance

countrys around scotland might not agree, with cuts, the raf has no martitime patrol aircraft and the navy have conventional oceon going vessels based in scotland. good to know the oil and waters at well watched, remember when all those russian ships entered scottish waters, 24 hours it took to scramble ships.. not the first time either

Our military is not what it was due to left wing fannies but our territory is very well protected. It may have taken us 24 hours to send an ESCORT but they were being watched before they got near and we could have dealt with them before any threat arose. The oil rigs are protected by the best in the world operating out of fastlane and Poole, something I haven't been persuaded the SDF will be able to do with equal capability. Nevertheless the UK would probably sort that anyway to restore stability to the north sea if such a thing ever occurred. But none of that effects our nato membership, which was the original point. Nice try.

I find it odd, that something as important as a country's direction in history that people can be undecided.

,a lot of questions by folk on the tv, asking how better or worse off financially they be.Surely it should be in your heart ,that you want to vote yes or no ,you shouldn't be sitting on the fence depending what middle class ex lawyers (from both sides) are promising.

The same people who will f**k you over whether they sit in Edinburgh or Westminster, the same kind of people that decided to a union would be good thing 300 years ago.

I'm in favour if Union as there is strength in the union.

I just hope that if the no vote is successful Salmond will fcuk off and the other yes voters suck it up.

I doubt it though and this merry go round will happen again and again until a yes, like a spoilt nagging brat asking for a toy again and again until they get what they want

they should put a hundred year barrier on it to be held only every hundred yrs that stops anybody wasting millions of tax payers money on dwelling on it

Breaking news, RBS WILL RELOCATE HQ TO ENGLAND IF SCOTLAND VITES FOR INDEPENDENCE

Says it all really!!!!!!!!!!

Just read that bit.......seemingly it's there license they will be moving to cover there arse IF there's not a currency union. It's a nice media spin.

So really when you look at all the panic of these companies saying there going to ship out if there's not a currency union does it not just make sense to keep it?

If it is a yes vote the left will do everything in their power to break england up into bitesize pieces, they will talk of autonomous regions or city states. We can't let that happen wether northern or southern we are all anglo saxon (apart from our immigrant friends). British used to be something to be proud of as a child and now to me conjures up images of mo farah, horrendous fake jamaican accents and british jihadis. The world's toilet. I have a lot of respect for all of the peoples of britain, this referendum has brought out the worst in a lot of people.

Today the governor clarified that, whatever currency arrangement is chosen, Scotland would require much higher reserves than it could inherit as a share of UK assets.

"That would leave a very big shortfall. As the governor said, meeting this shortfall would mean 'real fiscal costs' for Scotland – almost certainly higher taxes or spending cuts."

Carney told the Treasury select committee that the Bank of England had contingency plans in place if Scotland votes on 18 September to go it alone. Several economists have warned that savers and companies could rush to move their money out of Scotland. The governor told MPs: "There are reasons why we have -contingency plans in place".

The bank of Scotland have categorically said today that if the yes vote wins they are moving their headquarters to London ...........

Would be better if you read the whole story and not just the headlines mate.
