Perhaps that dog needs putting on a leash in the vicinity of roads and around moggies?.

Was reading an old article in the country mans weekly about maybe it made sense to start a pup a bit early so it could find its feet when chasing stuff and less likely to be so full on. Rather than show a 12 month old a dog a rabbit for the first time so it goes hell for leather straight into the wire or what ever.

Starting them early or late will make little difference with some mutts, some just never learn the art of patience and the reward it offers. Some dogs are born feckless and reckless, the only thing that curbs their enthusiasm is running into an immovable object and the consequences of it.
