Longside get the tel number of the local police that cover the area where you will be out lamping and phone them, tell em the farm / land you will be on and what you will be doing. That way if anybody thinks your out poaching etc if they see your lamp shining around the fields and phone the police they will be aware that it is you and that there is no need to deploy officers cause you are there genuinely carrying out pest control. Believe me mate they will appreciate it as its saving their time in the long run, my dad does this every time he goes out on his permission just out of courtesy. if you ain't doing out wrong you nothing to worry about.

Had to inform local plod on a couple of my perms just an email to give them your details and reg. of your car saves a lot of bother, I know a lass on the switch board at one of the stations I'm registered with and she says the amount of calls they get when I'm out and my 4/4 is parked up on land is unreal.

The area is hammered by lurcher and terrier folk, believe it or not many of them are less than desirable to have in the area, many are not, thus the police are attempting to make life easier for themselves whilst protecting the rural community and property. As others have said, ring the local plod and inform them where you will be,vehicle details, landowner etc.then hunt away, good land is worth a little hassle.
