Crushed Peas Or Mushy Peas ?

Hello everyone.

I took the missis and my son to Cleethorpes yesterday for a bit of sea air...etc etc.

Anyways,When we get there the missis starts looking around for somewhere to eat as it was dinnertime.

The place is full of chippys, restaurants and fast food outlets.. . But as usual my missis spots this trendy looking posh place on the high street with an stupid name and a clientel of young posh trendy types..( my missis is doing the old Cynthia Bucket impersonation and pretending to be what we are not).

Anyway outside on the wall is a rather posh menu of which she is perusing over like a puffed up bantam cock.. She says in her poshest voice..oh yes this is it..mmm " lightly crusted Golden Battered Cod accompanied with Pomme Frittz and with a side garnish of Crushed Peas ".... mmmm oh yes she says triumphantly . . . . I have a closer look... £10.45.per person...not including the obviously over priced drinks and puddings..ffsake. . £10.45p for Fish, chips and mushy peas.. . . I can hear Tomo choking on his own tongue right now...lol.

So after lots of banter about crushed peas from me and my lad..she is fuming and at the point of not talking to both of us for the rest of our lives... We are now sat down outside old Beryl's famous fish and chip shop on the seafront having Fish, chips and mushy peas...heheheeee...the missis is fuming and grumbling that the wind is freezing and we could be sat indoors in a nice posh place.

me and the lad are giggling like kids. . . Old lass comes up cleaning the spotless tables and asks is everything alright to which we all nods and say...mmmm Lovely...(how typical..even if was shit we would'nt say ).

So I say to old Beryl the cleaner/boss.. . . " maybe you can help out Beryll...Whats the difference between Crushed peas and mushy peas ? " . . . she looks at me in complete puzzlement and says " i have no idea " . . . .the missis is seething by now..heheee

" About £25 if you go 500 yards up the road " I reply. . . . my son fell off his chair laughing and old Beryll walked off chuckling.

Needless to say I'm in the doghouse today .
