Bigad 136
Was out on my new large permission with the bsa scorpian t10 and was testing the new t20 lamp out. I knew where the main bunny problem was as the farmer had told me to have a go at it so parked up in the arranged spot then walked through 2 large fields towards the area. As I walked up the margin of the field towards the little patch of trees that was riddled with warrens some movement caught my eye instantly freezing on the spot trying to work out what it was that I had seen. Shoulder the bsa had a look through scope and there it was black as the fire back not a speck of white or any other colour. I thought that's got to be had my first black rabbit pulled out the range finder 97 yards away way too far for me to take a shot . Now I was stood in the open with a bush about 40 yards in front of me with the bunny in the open field next to the one I am in need some cover to get a safe range on this left me no option but in the drainage ditch was about three foot deep hunched over out of site made my way up the ditch with about 6 inch of mud and water in it making an loud squelch with every step. Nearly lost my hunter welli in one bit but got to the bush slowly peaked over the ditch with bush as close to me as possible so no silhouette stood out and it was sat there unaware of my presence slowly raised the bsa with the bipod set up and still did not see me. Get giddy ranged it 55 yard perfect I can shoot a clover leaf shape if not tighter at this range all day long . So lined him up second mill dot down gently squeezed the trigger wack he back flipped then death run for a second then slumped perfect good start to the night . Got six in total but that was the prize of the night my first black bunny Edited August 20, 2014 by Bigad 1 Quote Link to post

johnrthrfrd 223
never kill the black ones even when ferreting let them out the net (was told many moons ago by my old man that it was bad luck so they go to live another day). Quote Link to post
