Foxi_Roxi 21
how many of you keep your terriers outside? I'd like a terrier, (my OH has 2) and his are both kenneled permenantly. Now i dont know if its the girlie side in me or the fact terriers are so small, I kind of feel sorry for them being out in the cold I suppose it doesnt help Ive only had pet dogs before i got my lurcher (shes in most of the time although does have a kennel and run) and Im used to them being in the house. I know terriers are hardy little things. But just give me some reassurance. Pictures of your set up (and lovely dogs!) would be a great help! Quote Link to post

butcherboy 68
Only have gundogs but everyone is outside. Only Cockers but the other year proved to me how much it doesn't bother them. It was snowing & temp in car showed -16. The dogs, which have heated kennels were all outside sleeping covered in snow. Quote Link to post
Foxi_Roxi 21
i used to work with flat coat retrievers and they were all kept outside in kennels. I do love flatties! Quote Link to post
s.e.s.k.u 1,893
Outside for mine...put a bit of thought and effort into the bedding area. .no need for them to be cold. security is my main concern. .keep the kennels out of site of passers by if possible. . Quote Link to post

Foxi_Roxi 21
What do people think to dogs being kept with a kennel and then on a chain? I've seen this done before too. Think I prefer the kennel and run idea over a chain. Quote Link to post
whitefeet4190 1,725
I wouldn't have a dog on a chain mate I know of a couple of good Lurchers that have hung themselves when chasing next doors cat and tried to follow it over fence Quote Link to post
