bobcullen79 1,495
Hey all. The Mrs was hoovering for an hour the other day (yeah I know).. And when she finally turned the machine off to move to another part of the house it no longer worked. No burning smell, nothing. The power light comes on, but no noise or suction. Gonna go buy a mutlimeter, not that I know how to use one but I watched a youtube vid and matey had one. Any Ideas? The vid I watched was a Henry not a Hetty, they cant be much different can they?

bobcullen79 1,495
Got a multimeter, think Im using it right, checked the switches, and motor and they seem fine. I think its the pcb, ordered an new one off ebay and there doing "new" ones now to over come a problem the old boards had, what that problem is, it didnt say. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111324346303?ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_from%3DR40%26_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D111324346303%26_rdc%3D1For £19, got to be worth a try before dumping it.

bobcullen79 1,495
Ive had the bushes out Mox, seemed a good it of length left on them, and they look theyre still making a good contact?
moxy 617
If your getting power to the switches then it's not the power chord contact. Motors testing ok and brushes are fine then it's the pcb.

Check the fuse in the plug before you pull the bloody thing apart ! lol Is that the voice of experience bud? I knew the fuse was fine as I was getting a power light on on the unit. Thats what I thought Stabba, because if it didnt work, she`d have been looking at me for a new hoover.
