Motion Sensor Cameras

Recommended Posts

I treated myself to a Lil Acorn after a discussion with a customer. Apparently he'd had an expensive, all singing and dancing device that even sent a picture-message to his phone whenever it took a photo. Unfortunately it kept breaking down and was very susceptible to damp, so he dumped it in favour of the Lil acorn.

It takes video clips, still shots or a combination of both depending how you set it up. daytime pictures are in colour and the quality is good.. Night shots are black and white and as you can see from the enclosed photos need a bit of practice to avoid glare from the "invisible" flash. These were the results of my first attempts and I had the camera a little too close to the bait. Even so they are plenty good enough for monitoring purposes.

Having seen how a fox reacts to an easy meal made me rethink a fair bit about the design and setting up of cage traps for sure!.

It also comes with a extra battery pack that when fitted is supposed to give a stand-by time of over three months. Probably not with my Poundland batteries though ! :)

Only criticism is that though the camera itself is robust the catch on the battery/switch/ compartment is a bit delicate-looking. Otherwise It seems good so far .

I've tried a few brands, but stick with Bushnell. They cost a bit more but quality only hurts once. Unlike some other models the bushnell seems to be easy to attach and easy to work. I've had many hours of footage on mine, really good for finding out whats what.
