The Perfect Pellets!

Dose any one know how to make the perfect feed pellet to go on a flatbed method feeder?

 

My friend and myself have made mix after mix trying to get that perfect pellet mixture but every time we end up either to sticky or to dry.

Mix some in with damp Pellets, small ones are best (3-4mm max) and give it a swirl. Should mould onto a method feeder ok. Also use a method feeder that comes with a mould, easier to squeeze onto the feeder.

Them feeders with the moulds are the bollocks Arch, I used one in the comp for the first time. Much easier. I was gutted when I lost the only two I had and had to change tactics.. I think you was lucky bud.. Like you say, I could see them working well with scalded pellets.

How are you prepping them smokey joe? I just put what I need in a bowl and cover with boiling water, only just cover the pellet with water, not too much. And leave for a while to soften. You dont want a totally mushy pellet..

One of the moulds would be handy to avoid over packing onto the feeder, so if it was a bit sticky, it still should come off. To be honest though if you put your hook bait in the mould first, its on the outside of the feeder so in theory it should be one of the first tit bits to get snaffled, so it wouldnt really matter if you feeder empties or not.

I don't know about flatbed method feeders but I've had some good success with the guru inline pellet feeders filled with little coarse carp pellets and a bigger one on the hook.

Wet them down and then sprinkle some horlex on em perfect pellets every time sticky as well

Thanks for all the great tips lads, and bob, what I do is the same! add boiling water and once they have soaked it up add the liquid additive and pit to the feeder but I will try some of the comments on here and see the result!

If you are having difficulty getting the right consistency of pellet to mould into the feeder, it might be an idea to see how using small sticks of dry pellet fare, made up with PVA mesh and using a plain lead (no feeder needed) and hook your baited hook into the mesh before casting. Only takes a few seconds for the mesh to dissolve, and your hookbait is right in and amongst the feed pellets.

use 3/4mm damp pellets soak for 3mins and drain water off and ad a table spoon ov horrlicks to bond them better rnd the feeder thisl work ok
