Quickest of the mark? Quickest to 100yrds? Quickest over a 3 minute course? Quickest to catch a lure? Or quickest to run into a field and drop its arse for a shit?

How can you find the quickest over a three minute course ........................... surely they will all do it in, errrr, three minutes ?

Speed kills,grinders fill the freezer?.

The fastest lurcher would be bred with mostly greyhound blood and resemble a greyhound in every way apart from a tatoo of course :D

It won't make it the best of course but it depends on the ground and quarry

Speed= Distance ÷ Time

A dog may look fast but another dog with a slower but longer stride pattern can cover more ground in less time.....

.usain bolt

Size will be a factor

A whippet grey would never beat a pure greyhound,off a level start.iv had heard many a time a whippet can beat a grey over a sprint distance,if anyone wants a bet iv a bitch here,no starts just a level break over a sprint distance,

not a chance fella go and have a look at comparative times between greyhound sprints and whippet sprints and the greyhound will always be faster ..........

Robin, what distance do you mean by "sprint" ? Whippet distance, 150 yards or Greyhound distance, 270 metres ?

Loves Lockdown and Deneside Belle, both non ped whippet x greyhound, have held greyhound track records over the sprint distance at greyhound tracks, and there are non ped "whippets" that will beat greyhounds over the whippet distance of 150yards. Granted, USUALLY, greyhounds will beat non peds, but, Socks, to say "not a chance"' and "greyhounds will ALLWAYS be faster is not true. There are ALLWAYS exceptions
