A whippet grey would never beat a pure greyhound,off a level start.iv had heard many a time a whippet can beat a grey over a sprint distance,if anyone wants a bet iv a bitch here,no starts just a level break over a sprint distance,

The fastest lurcher would be bred with mostly greyhound blood and resemble a greyhound in every way apart from a tatoo of course

 

It won't make it the best of course but it depends on the ground and quarry

Robin, what distance do you mean by "sprint" ? Whippet distance, 150 yards or Greyhound distance, 270 metres ?

Loves Lockdown and Deneside Belle, both non ped whippet x greyhound, have held greyhound track records over the sprint distance at greyhound tracks, and there are non ped "whippets" that will beat greyhounds over the whippet distance of 150yards. Granted, USUALLY, greyhounds will beat non peds, but, Socks, to say "not a chance"' and "greyhounds will ALLWAYS be faster is not true. There are ALLWAYS exceptions

Like i said iv a greyhound bitch here il bet her against any whippet grey off levels start over 160 yards, my mate says whippet greys are the fastest i say greyhounds
