zandy01 3,575 Posted August 16, 2014 Report Share Posted August 16, 2014 Well on the off chance on Thursday, couple phone calls and found a MINT condition HW 97KT with Hawke 3 x 9 x 50 scope, rifle only 6 month old and I reckon I got a bargain, rifle, scope, gun bag and full tin of pellets for £350 Heading up to Swarland rifle range on Sunday morning to tats it all out - can't wait... Gonna get a good few tins of pellets through it and get used to it 1st while I save some money for a tuning kit and pay someone to do the necessary for me... So I have an AA S410 pcp which has I just got back from AA after a full service, seals, firing valve replaced and loads more work, I absolute love my pcp but have now joined "The springer club" to help aid/hone my shooting skills... 4 Quote Link to post

Look around for info on the Artillery Hold, and you'll be on the right track. And read Pianoman's post on shooting technique, it's an excellent introduction to shooting springers. Wouldn't bother with a tuning kit unless the power drops suddenly, or there's something else wrong, like a pronounced twang or too much recoil. If you do decide to go the tuning route, why pay someone to fit it for you, though? It only takes an hour or so to fit a V-Mach kit. 2 Quote Link to post

I've read Pianomans post re technique, obviously I'm not expecting great results after only shooting pcp recently but with time and practice things can only get better... Defo gonna get it tuned/internals polished as I've done a lot of research and it appears to change the rifle dramatically in positive ways but it won't be by me as I'm useless and the least mechanically minded person... I'll keep you posted with my thoughts and possibly some pics of my grouping if they're not too embarrassing ha ha... 1 Quote Link to post

bigmac 97kt 13,776 Posted August 17, 2014 Report Share Posted August 17, 2014 Another mug with an smk copy <Skot no,s all about that > would not have one given to me . :whistling: NOW THAT SAY,D iv had loads of 97,s and there a cracking bit of kit and the one that lives with me now is tuned ,fitted with a v mach kit welsh willy trigger all internals polished and a mach safety fitted to i sold it to my son in-law but i have full use of it at any time SHE IS FECKING AWESOME with next to no recoil im sure jjm will be along to say what its like as he has fired this rifle it used to be his and it was good then . You have one of the best out there zandy and once you have master,d it you will love it but watch as all springers will now and again show you who is the boss :icon_eek: and will let you no that you have not mastered it at all especially a 97 atvbmac :thumbs: 1 Quote Link to post
