TOMO 26,993
I would be interested in these tube heaters you lads use,,,,cos the one I tried from Argos was wank,,,put your hand 3 inch away from it and nothing,,,,so if you know of a site with good ones put up a link chaps,,, I have used heat lamps for years and last year went on to the ceramic one,,,,the bulbs last longer,,,I found the red ones blowing after about 4 months... I tend to leave mine on all the time from November ,,right through till march or April Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
I know because by the way you speak I have probably kept dogs longer than you have been alive and my father and his father before him kept dogs so I have seen the progression and know when some things have changed for the better .....youre job doesn't impress me fella or your pedigree av met you're type before aswell.half the time I think its for the owners piece off mind rather the dogs it doesint meen youre dog is living in poor conditions if you dont have a heat lamp a well built draught free kennel with extra bedding in the winter is enough . If a dog could speak it would probably say turn that fookin light off I wasn't trying to impress you with my dog or my pedigree whatever that's supposed to mean .... I have been around long enough to see the way dogs were kept and the improvements made that can only be good for the dogs ... When the dogs are working day in day out in the winter it's far better to bring them home to a heated kennel simple as really ... I and don't forget all kennels are different my dogs have a large inside run aswell as an outside run with their beds inside ... No matter how much extra bedding I give them that won't make them any warmer ... But a heat lamp two foot above their heads does ......... 1 Quote Link to post
DEERMAN 1,020
Can you really spoil your dogs too much if you work them hard? Cold dogs don't recover as fast as warm dogs 3 Quote Link to post

Qbgrey 4,170
the problem is a pet dog would prob be ok in a unheated very well insulated kennel....but a dog that's very weak, wet, tired,.,and been out all night running is at it lowest point,if temp drops to -5 etc and your dogs wet its not good in my views.most people who laugh at a lamp our mostly the ones who are to tight to spend a few pence, the dogs prob shouting out, give us a little warmth ya tight c...t,ive run me back wheels off for you tonight.im not talking red hot, just a little bit of extra help. 1 Quote Link to post
