Guest Frank
Put Eire in your profile Bran, so as folk know where you are from. Your post now makes a lot more sence, knowing ireland, fairly well, i can quite understand how a bunch of cowboys can get away with riding round, shooting off the road, and not get caught. Ireland is so rural, you see few cars, there are little hills everywhere, and i,ll bet you cant see a lamp beam, a quarter of a mile away, because of the hills, hedgerows etc. Not much chance of driving land there either, the hedges are impenetrable, and most dont have gateways, etc, infact, i,ve never seen such an unkempt landscape......but its beautiful for it. Your not far rong their baldie, about our landscape, but you got one thing wrong, the traffic over here, is not what it use to be, fecking cars all over the place!! Quote Link to post

Was out lamping one night, unknown to me at the time a friend could see me miles off, he rang Conor asking who was out as he needed a hand with three foxes in one field Then rang me to see if I could get to him in time with the caller (couldn't). I was literally miles away with a hill between me and him. I'm prettu sure I could see Conor out one night too when I was up behind the village and that was quite a distance away also. As for the traffic, when were ya here last? I live 50 miles from the nearest city and only one very small town in the area local to me and you'd still get run over in the middle of nowhere very easily, even on the back roads off the back roads. Plus the boys in blue are out quite a lot, more so lately whatever is up. And I live in a very lowly populated area so my sympathies go to anyone legal hunters nearer the cities or over in the east of the country, I'd go mad Quote Link to post

IanB 0
feck farmers. As a Farmer you too You seem to have no respect nitedog, farmers play a big part in what we all do, ie fieldsports...its people like yourself with the so called attitude of feck farmers, that makes them wary of people wanting to get into fieldsports on their land.. juckler123 707
Seen it many times when keepers get fed up with folks on their land easiest way to stop em coming is get rid of the reason there tempted in the first place. Id have taken advantage of the situation and gone round with the dog picking up Quote Link to post
Guest joe ox
A well known guy from where we live was shot and killed while out mooching with his 20 inch bedlington cross local to where you live Ian B. YES he was poaching but so what that is not punishable with your LIFE. The FARMER got 18 month in prison :realmad: for shooting and KILLING a man with a wife and 2 young boys. The guy was a personal friend of mine and nitedogs so I agree with him in saying F**k FARMERS :realmad: Edited October 19, 2007 by joe ox Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Yes, I can remember that , obviously not all farmers are gun wielding psychos wanting to kill people on their land...but the point I'm getting at is, respect them, the reason most local farmers won't entertain people on land, is because they get tortured, well certainly around me, people just go where they want and do what they want regardless, most of the farmers aren't too bothered though luckily, they just go along with it... Yes people can get fed up of knocking at doors and getting turned away, and just think f**k it, I'm going on anyway, but other people may have permission on there, shoots, whatever..we have all crossed over the fence, but all I'm saying is respect the land and the people who own it...there not all bad trust me. Guest joe ox
Where ever we go the land is respected but our feeling about farmers is something that wont be changed because of that incident! Quote Link to post

Joe, your basing your opinion on every farmer because of one gun toting idiot farmer...I'm not going to argue with you, there is good farmers, were all entitled to an opinion.. Quote Link to post
