BRAN 0
f*****g raging Went to a place that use to hold abundance of game. rabbit, hare, fox. I haven't been in years. Thinking cunning I says to myself all the ones that used to hunt this place, are out of the game now - so was expecting a bit of a night. Well was I suprised, there wasn't a set of eyes in the night! I mean nada, not birds, nothing. Couldn't f*****g believed it until I noticed an red filter light, and noticed three pricks in an landrover two through the top with rifles on cradles plugging everything moving. f*****g joke! Week after week getting dogs right, conditioning, feeding, and cleaning them to wtach these wankers cruise and nuetralize everything without even leaving the vehicle, without a course, and even worse leaving what they shot in the field! Guest baldie
Who holds the permission on the land, you , or them? Quote Link to post
IanB 0
Interesting...anyone who throws what they hunt to rot in a field are wankers, but for people who have permission to hunt the land, thats just why they have permission to keep vermin down... Quote Link to post
Irish Lurcher 1,013
Strange that you bring this subject up. Only last week I was on a farm owned by my mate, I had just set up my rifle and lamp when we heard dogs running amuck down below the house. Three pricks with dogs running deer on private land, there are plenty of deer on this land, but the farmer leaves then alone, so I don’t bother with them, and guess what, these pricks dont have permission on this farm. Having ran them off, I was asked to keep a close eye on things, now the farmer is completely against dogs on his land. If these guys in the land rover were driving around the land that its a guess that they have permission to do so, and leaving the fox in the field or on a gate is the done thing over here, its shows the farmer that you are indeed doing your job. fathom 2
Your right ian when you say that they've been given permission to keep vermin down, none of us want to wipe out our quarry if we did there would be nothing there for next season but at the end of the day that's the only reason we are given permission not because the farmers want to see us enjoying our sport but to control the vermin on his/her land. the key is keeping a healthy balance do enough to keep the farmer happy and enough to ensure you still have quarry for next session respect for the farmer and respect for your quarry. with regards to leaving quarry to rot this is totally distasteful i hate to see it, these people only do what they do for the trill of the blood sport its people like this who give us a bad name and give plenty of ammunation to anti's what a bundle of wankers unfortunely its getting to the point were the are more wankers out there than genuine fieldsport enthusists well were i am anyway. the best thing to do is keep true to your sport dont give into anti's and show the quarry that enables you to enjoy your way of life respect and hopefully people and farmers will see you for the genuine person you are. i know i swayed a wee bit of the topic sorry bout that happy hunting all Quote Link to post
snoopdog 1,256
the earley bird catches the worm ..... it horses for courses .........he done that hes done this winging feckers ...... ...............if your going to poach dont get seen .....not a shooter myself ..dont see any fun in it ...no buzz there for me ...espeicaly at night with a lamp ......what chance has your quarry got .... but if its pest control ..well i suppose it has to be done.......maybe if half off these shooting men knew how to use a lurcher properly they wouldnt need a gun...... whatever ever rocks your boat ... It's true what they say....there is two sides to every coin, and,if they have the permission, and,as you say it used to be teaming woth game, then in the eyes of the farmer they are doing a good job.If on the other hand,it was your permission I guess you would of been on the phone to the old bill smartish, and you would have the right to moan, but,if you don't go out of your way to get the permission then you got no right to moan mate mind you,if it is your permission then I apologise for the last statement..............but,will you tell us or not??? fathom 2
Irish lurcher when i was complaining about leaving quarry to rot i was refering to rabbit and hare, i know that foxes are left to show farmers that the deed has been done just incase you think i was calling you a wanker Quote Link to post
BRAN 0
I had permission. They did not leave the vehicle from the road! Because they had rifles, sights , an elevated postition on top of landrover roof, they simply drove around the country from the f*****g roads and wasting everything! Without ever getting out. Guest baldie
If they are shooting from a vehicle on a public road, get their number, and report them. Its completely illegal, and f*****g dangerous, and they deserve to, and WILL lose their licenses. As for shooters not being able to use a lurcher.... There is a slight problem with anything other than rats or rabbits......its illegal, and some of us have no option but to obey the law, i,m a gunsmith, i must have both licenses, and a clean police record, i cant break the law. Its easy to break the law, when you have nothing to lose. Having said all that, i despise the same set of wankers you do mate, they aren,t sportsmen, nor are they serious and responsible vermin controllers, either proffessional, or amateur, because we done waste edible quarry, or leave non edible quarry [vermin] in full view of the public. Catch them red handed, and shop them, they are the sort of wankers that give genuine riflemen a bad name. Quote Link to post
millie 1
The enemy within strikes again...
