the big chief 3,099
I do stabba and use the amba one but if it goes a little further just pop it off Quote Link to post
Slippery_Weasel 460
The dog shouldn't have any problems running with the filter on longer term. If the dog's only run on white light in the past you may notice a slight difference for the first few runs as it gets used to the change in light colour and it may find it harder to spot stuff at first. The light doesn't carry as far with the filter on so if you're lamping stuff that is further away it is more likely to be able to out of the end of the beam 1 Quote Link to post
whitefeet4190 1,729
Just been looking on website and I didn't know there was such thing as an ifa red lens cover ? Anyone used one of these. ?? Quote Link to post
coursing-lad 71
I used a red one and found that 200+ yards you can't see the run. And was no use. Instead of using a filter avoid putting the beam straight on your quarry. Put it as it's feet so you can just see it and as you slip the dog eluminate the full animal. Atb conran. Quote Link to post

gnipper 6,568
Are rabbits easily spotted with a green light? I've only ever used red and amber filters. Quote Link to post
little hedz 118
i use an amber filter and still run stuff with it on only used it out of a motor though not tried it walking variables are good enough so you dont have to mess about with a filter when walking anyway i think Quote Link to post
squab 2,875
Stabba I like red. Spot with red run them with white beam.... soon as they've out a few times send them down with filter on dogs pick um right of the seat, futher slips let em see the eye let them get as close as quarry will let em last minute flick to white gives dogs valuable seconds..... Now I cant stand lamping without one matey same as Quote Link to post
squab 2,875
the small clulite lamps have the ideal filter set up although the lamp itself is to small for what i need, dog moves in on quarry and you just flick hinged filter up its still attached to the lamp if your high tailing it across the field,on the lightforce 170 i melted a hole through the edge of filter, same on the lamp itself and attached a bit of string between the two,can be a pain to pop filter off but at least it aint laying on the floor when you decide to move on Quote Link to post

Mine got used to it after a few frustrating slips lol it was a pain though with stuff further away trying to take it off mid course.. I can see how people end up loosing them I might drill on hole through the centre of if and give that a bash this season 1 Quote Link to post
