Must be in a bad place to end your own life and then there's the heartbreak for the friends and family they leave behind .

jeemes 4,498
If someone is suicidal it's nothing to do with being brave, cowardly or selfish it's about the poor person not being able to cope. I was pretty messed up as a kid and tbh I don't think it ever goes away you just get better at coping or not in some cases. yeh sounds about right ,being able to cope. I think everybody at some time in there life as moments where they carnt cope, and need help. I no sometimes ive been really down from pain with my back , and it deff affects your mind you think fook this lot I could go to sleep and never wake up(pills) no more pain, but some how you snap out of it, but as ive got older it harder to do so mentality +physically you get worse you keep pumping mate...the dogs need you
pesky1972 5,334
Sh!te some people talk on here... the guy was described as having been "battling severe depression". To say that he's been selfish or cowardly, or that he should consider himself lucky or luckier than some others and that would somehow make him feel better, shows a total ignorance and lack of understanding of his condition.

skycat 6,173
Sh!te some people talk on here... the guy was described as having been "battling severe depression". To say that he's been selfish or cowardly, or that he should consider himself lucky or luckier than some others and that would somehow make him feel better, shows a total ignorance and lack of understanding of his condition. It is impossible for someone who hasn't suffered from depression to even begin to comprehend what that illness does to a person. Professional medical people haven't even learned how to 'cure' it, so to the man on the street depression just seems like a weakness, or a pathetic excuse for a life style or addiction, whereas in reality it is a life-threatening (and in some cases: life-taking) condition with no real cure. Our minds are so complex, and if the 'wiring' or chemical building blocks are put together in such a way that the person feels and sees things differently to the norm, people tend to see only a fault, a disability that could be overcome if that person only tried hard enough. What's that saying: something about walking a mile in my shoes before you judge?

WILF 47,557
While I have sympathy for someone who has a genuine medical condition, surely based on the logic that we should all feel bad because it's not his fault then if we follow the same logic we should feel sorry for the sociopath who spends his days cutting heads off young girls ? Surely that's not his fault either ? Just thought it was an interesting juxtaposition ?
Brigzy 1,298
Possibly my favorite actor, liked him in Fisher King. Evidently he topped himself because he was skint and about to be made bankrupt. How the hell could he be skint, yes, he had two costly divorces, but he must have made many millions from his films and stage shows, where the hell did all his money go ?
