Rhys Williams 3
Hi I just bought a webley fx 2000 in.22 calibre. I've had around 50 shots and the gun worked great sighted in great with good grouping. I filled it last night ready to use tonight, but the bolt will cock back but not go all the way forward to lock down. If I hold it forward the gun will click but no air or anything. Pellet just stays in the barrel. The bolt seems like it's hitting against something but barrel is clear. Anyone got any ideas? Hope this makes sense thanks Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
you might have to much air pressure in the gun .The hammer may not be opening the valve .or the gun may be adjusted so as to allow a large amount of low pressure air into the barrel and opening the valve with a weak hammer spring so the gun stays below 12 ft lbs , so when you fill the gun to the standard 200 bar the weak hammer spring cannot open the valve . ...has the gun developed a leak and no air in the gun .....does the gun cock and hold the hammer back so when you pull the trigger the hammer bashes into something........after you filled the gun did it shoot . Rhys Williams 3
Yeah it did shoot. It may be to much air because it shows slightly over 200 bar. How can I let out some pressure? Thanks Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
If the problem is to much air pressure the only way I can think you release some air would be increase the power of your hammer spring this may make your gun to powerful as the air cylinder empties . There may be a way of taking the gun apart and opening the valve a little to release some air ,with some sort of press of some kind that will hold the valve open in a similar way as the hammer does when it hits the valve stem , you cannot open the air cylinder when it is full of air . there is a fx owners site, someone may know how to solve you problem . ...... If you filled the gun an it then shot and you left the gun alone and came bake to it and it then would not shoot . the problem could be the valve has become stuck in some way . Rez 4,961
Back to the shop man... Quote Link to post
Rhys Williams 3
I'll have a look on the fx forums. Didn't buy it from a shop, bought off a friend thanks for the replies Quote Link to post
Rhys Williams 3
Fixed the problem. Found a guide of how to strip down the firing assembly and found that the small pin that gets struck by the hammer to release air had come out and was stopping the bolt from going all the way in. Also for some reason the end cap was causing the housing around the bolt assembly to go tight and jam. Sorted them two things. Also I found a way of emptying the tank but dangerous and wouldn't recommend to ANYONE! Thanks for the advice Quote Link to post
