When I arranged my Mum's funeral. I said to the vicar that religion wasn't my cup of tea, but Mum was a believer and she would have wanted a Christian sendoff and tbh he couldn't have been more understanding. Nice guy actually.

When I was a child I prayed to god and asked for a bike, but I knew god didn't work that way so I stole one and asked for forgiveness instead ?.

I will clearly state that my belief is that God does NOT exist. However, you can't prove that something doesn't exist, so if your telling me that I'm wrong, then I'm going to need some proof. Proof th

I've had a google and they reckon it's about 5000 pairs. What I can't understand if God was so powerful, powerful enough that he can make the world, he could do all these amazing things. He summons a

Can I just point out that that specific action of Truther's isn't in any way defining of an atheist....

Personally if I couldn't respect the cultural practices of a given event, then I wouldn't attend. I think that is basic respect of other people and their cultures myself. And to me, Christian funerals are a, albeit very familiar, different culture to my own.

When in Rome............ otherwise, stay the f**k away from Rome! LOL

For once on this thread I have to agree with frazdog ... The vicar is only doing his job and trying to give somebody the best send off he can whilst trying to balance that very thin line between praising the joy of somebody's life and the sadness of their death ...........

Here is great material on giants

http://www.6000years.org/giants.html

you may not like it but, its there an verifys the bible an Gods word, this shows us we havent evolved but devolved ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I think if you do some further research you'll find that most of these were doctored media for an online competition.

The best one is the cast of the footprint. If it was a cast then the footprint would be in the opposite relief mode.

The guy in the yellow t-shirt standing against the horizontal print has a video, not worth watching as he's not even an archaeologist and the fact that the "print" is in granite speaks volumes. Good luck to anyone who manage to get any kind of footprint in granite whilst it's in a molten state.

Hutchy I would say they are some fakes, but im sure that most are genuine, most date back to before 1900, an plus when they were found, none of them were being used to verify the bible,

An born, if one of your relatives, passed away, would you not go to the funeral, thats not respect in my book, I think pride comes into this, would yo not swallow it an go, an maybe you could tell us what an atheists funeral is like, saying truther doesnt meet your atheistic standards, im curious, thanks.

Where did I say I wouldn't go? I said I wouldn't go IF I couldn't respect the cultural and therefore religious practices of the event..... which I can and have done and will continue to do. And that covers more than just Christianity and more than just religion too.

Also I didn't say Truther doesn't meet my 'atheistic' standards, I said that his actions are not defining of an atheist. They're not counter to it either. Being disrespectful or respectful is not in any definition of atheism.

An atheist funeral is just like a normal funeral but without the faith readings etc.

Find some authentic ones then that have been peer reviewed.

As for Atheist funerals, I couldn't tell you what one's like, never been to one.

Mine... well that's not gonna make any odds to me. Funerals are for the living, not the dead. If my body can be used for good when I'm no longer in need of it then I think that'd be good, other than that it all makes no odds to me.

What a joke, dont suppose any of them phds now will handed back, an probably a few of them are professors, teaching there students the evo lie, the missing link, it was proved fake in the 50's an they still handed out the phds, crazy.

Fraz thinks he's on the way to converting me, "help with the bible" just a tale to show him where i stand, absolutely no respect for any religion, or the evil people that work for it. I know this priest, more to the point he knows where i stand, he should have just let me pass instead of getting in my face, his choice, he's a hypocrite anyway being gay. Anybody who joins the priesthood is condoning everything that organisation does or did imo, so much for "nice bloke only helping people" check out who owned a lot of the collierys up here, they let "agents" do the dirty work, but they made a fantastic amount of money while the miners lived in appaling conditions, not to mention a death toll average of 1500 miners a year, some of them my family, mostly C of E that though. As for the catholic lot, there's plenty to not like them for, look up the "Ustacha" or Dinko Sakic, and see how the catholics helped them after what they had done, the cardinal who oversaw them at the time was connonised a few years ago, they're going to make him a saint, disgusting.

If you join something knowing its evil, and worse still promote it as good, you deserve everything you get if you try and be a smart arse, end of.

Truther I was being sarcastic lad, when I said that, but hang on your in the atheist crew, an people think of you the way you thought of that priest,

You should have told me it was a popularity contest Fraz, i wouldn't have given honest opinions, and genuine reasons i don't like them, just to be popular like ;)

Sign up to be a priest and you automatically condone the lot, lock, stock and barrel, i thought of that priest like that because of reasons stated, and a lot more wrong doing they get up to.

"an people think of you the way you thought of that priest,"

Would these be " good christians" who think im an arsehole for not believing in god? Not very "christian" that mate is it
