kevin kiely 66
Turn at my rebuke Surely I will pour out my spirit on you I will make my words known To you. Because I have called and you refused, I have stretched out my hand and no one regarded, Because you disdained all my council, And would have none of my rebuke , I also will laugh at your calamity I will mock when your terror comes, When your terror comes like a storm, And your destruction comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you. Then they will call on me but I will not answer They will seek me diligently but will not find me Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the fear of The Lord They would have none of my counsel and despised my every rebuke Therefore they shall eat the fruit of their own way And be filled with their own fancies For the turning away of the simple will slay them And the complacency of fools will destroy them But whoever listens to me will dwell safely and will be secure without evil Proverbs 1:23-33 Edited January 5, 2015 by kevin kiely

hutch6 550
Man created God to answer the unaswerable. If God created us in his own image, then states that we shouldn't make anything that looks like him as he's a bit jealous, then how come we make little folk that are created in God's image? Aren't we just making loads of little God-lookalikes which by his own words he doesn't like? Why do animals or the water cycle keep on trucking seven days a week? You can go to a church seven days a week and speak with a priest, that's them working seven days a week in the name of God. I can't even begin to list the types of job that require someone to work on a Saturday, it'd take far too much time. Have you ever bought a pint from someone or gone out for a meal or watched TV on a Saturday? If so then you are asking them to work. Indeed the days of the week are all named after various Gods of various belief systems so even uttering their names would cause outrage from your God as you are using another idol's name. Saturday, which is the Sabbath, derives it's name from the God Saturn who is the god of wealth and plenty - a mixed message as no rich man shall ever pass through the gates of heaven. Just tried to understand Easter as I could never get my head around why it changed every year. Surely if you die on a day and rise again three days later those dates don't change but they do for Christians and readers of the KJB, even depending if you are are a western or eastern christian those days will be very different yet they are taken from the same book and religion. It's all to do with the spring equinox full moon, the following week and if you go by the Julian calendar or the Gregorian calendar as they change everything and even the equinox full moon doesn't happen on the same date every year. All this and still the Jewish Passover changes as well. There is even an Easter Act 1923 that was going to be passed to make Easter a fixed date on the Sunday following the second Saturday in April. This was never sanctioned though. High priests have met to try and determine when Easter should be but all have failed to come up with an agreed date. So despite, according to some sources, the most important person ever to walk the earth dying in front of thousands of witnesses (some would even go on to write unauthorised autobiographies) nobody remember to make a note of the date.Yet, when he was born in the back end of nowhere with only three visitors and a donkey as a witness, his birthday is the same date every year. As an example of this in 2013 Easter fell on the following dates according to whatever method you choose to follow: Jewish Passover - 26th March 5 days later. Christian Julian Calendar - 31st March 5 WEEKS later. Christian Gregorian Calendar - 5th May From start to end that is 40 days difference or deciding when he died. That's a whole Lent out. The same thing will happen in 2024 and every 11 years after that, there is a pattern pretty much.
