Deputy Dog 28
TC. Some folk won't find truth for same reason A criminal won't a police officer lol lol shepp, calm down pal. Owned by FM again lol. The lad has come across as least deluded on thread. He's never claimed world is 6000 years old, I've read every post, sad eh lol. If what a read was correct, I believe the lad is or was professional boxer too so careful with insults pal lol And got news for you, that ain't no animal in that video, it's an animation lol. Ludicrous to think that dog went to the sea and became a whale, easier for me to believe that god almighty kept a few animals on a boat alive haha. Your view of micro to macro is ignorant pal, ignorant of knowledge that for one animal to evolve into another it would have to take on new DNA/information in their genome, you lads to look this up, no greater proof of a creator than that. Animals are limited to what they are. Dawkins was asked on this and he was proper stumped lol. Cheers BH, was a spelling error mate. Got wife to check this over lol. Been flat out on this, loving it. Love this website. Cracking bunch of lads on here. Cheers
hutch6 550
Quick question, if evolution or common ancestry is a faith or belief, does that mean that rabbit and hare are completely unrelated? Stoat, weasel and pole cat are completely unrelated? A vole, a mouse, a shrew, a black rat and a brown rat are all completely different from each other? Brown, black and polar bear are completely unrelated? A jack Russell and a border collie are completely unrelated? A white man, a black man, a Middle Eastern man, an aboriginal man and definitely a native first generation man are completely unrelated? An oak and a sycamore are just as different as a spruce and an apple tree or a geranium and a daisy? None of these shared a common ancestor between them, they were all created as completely different species separate from each other?
Born Hunter 17,763
TC, strictly speaking agnosticism doesn't mean you're open minded, it just means you believe that the existence of a god is unknown and unknowable. An atheist isn't ignorant in their belief anymore than an agnostic or theist is. I only say this because many people claim atheists are ignorant and do not have an open mind simply because they have made a decision on the matter.
Tiercel 6,986
TC, strictly speaking agnosticism doesn't mean you're open minded, it just means you believe that the existence of a god is unknown and unknowable. An atheist isn't ignorant in their belief anymore than an agnostic or theist is. I only say this because many people claim atheists are ignorant and do not have an open mind simply because they have made a decision on the matter. Well after all these years I may not be an agnostic after all. Just shows how much I know!! Here is where I stand. Are there gods? Could be, but there again could not? I do not reject it out of hand, if I mean a singular omnipotent deity then I believe not, but am willing to change my mind. Did we evolve from the primeval slime? Possibly up to a point, but that would not account for our brain power. To me man stopped evolving once they became social animals. The reasoning behind that statement is that once we became social animals with the social structure we have today, every one was allowed to breed therefore it was not the fittest, strongest, aggressive or the most cunning that bred it was everyone. That can only be detrimental to a species. Another factor that perplexes me is the ancient civilisations and their advance technology, where did it go to? if we take the last century the advances have been like nothing ever seen before. Prior to that advances were very slow and with very small leaps and each leap lasted many years before it was usurped. Yet over 2000 years ago they could build pyramids. What happened to that knowledge why did it suddenly stop and we were back to the stone age effectively? Do you need to worship a god to stay on the straight and narrow? No that is down to your conscience and belief in what is right and what is wrong. So in summery, I do not say that there is no god. I do not say that we evolved from the slime. But I am open to be convinced either way. So what does that make me? TC Edited September 15, 2014 by tiercel

Ggib 370
Frazdog, if you went to war to defend Christianity, and had to kill the enemy, where does that stand with god? And are you allowed to kill to defend yourself?
Born Hunter 17,763
It makes you open minded and unsure! LOL. I simply meant that an open mind is a trait not a belief. I am an atheist though very much open minded. I could also be termed an agnostic, like you, but I think that's a dodgy term. If we applied agnosticism to science and law then we'd never progress in our knowledge and never prosecute a single person. My first stance in any conversation regarding the existence of God would be ignosticism. A lovely term a learnt through this thread! LOL.
Tiercel 6,986
LOL I have to disagree with you there BH, if you equate an agnostic as not believing all that he is told until he can get irrefutable proof. Is that not how scientist work? They have the theory but do not believe it until it is proved? TC

A lovely term a learnt through this thread! LOL. Thats the difference I am willing to be shown that there is a god, but as an atheist you believe categorically that there is no god so there is no point in talking about it. (Google is a wonderful tool, I just had to look it up) TC
