Treat others as you wish to be treated yourself, take what you need and no more, and always give back for what you have taken. I am probably closer to Charlie Caller in what I believe to be the right and proper way to live, but I do not need any so called higher deity to tell me what's right and what's wrong, in their brief life my parents taught me that over 50 years ago. As I stated in an earlier post I live my life and taught my children what was right from the beginning. They all live a good life, yet according to you unless we embrace god we are doomed to eternal damnation. One word, Bollox!! If your God can do that to people who live a good life, just because they do not go to church every Sunday, I am sure that he is not the type of God that I would want to worship. As a postscript, anyone reading this thread would defiantly not take up Christianity on your picture of how it should be. . Live your life with values that you would expect others to have. Charlie is a Pagan, (part hippy I`m sure ! lol) And Paganism intigues me as it holds a lot of beliefs which I find appealing, albeit without the gods, hence that attraction of Buddhism. There can never be a winner, science and faith are polar opposites. Science evidence based belief, faith by definition is belief in the absence of evidence. If God showed himself to us it would'nt require any faith to believe in him would it? You want to have an argument of logic on a topic that is illogical.... There's never going to be this "haha we win" moment in this argument. It's completely pointless. I only entered this thread in anger, so to speak, to talk about science. I'm not out to disprove god, it's impossible. God doesn't ever enter my thoughts because there is nothing at all other than peoples 'faith' as evidence of existence and as we have discussed faith is belief in the absence of evidence. I can't really make my logic for my beliefs any simpler, if I don't know how something works I son't just invent a supernatural cause, I work through steps of logic untill I have achieved a scientific answer based on observations and mathematics. If that takes time, then so be it........ That's the persuit of truth. As for evidence i fail to see how if 5 pieces of evidence are needed to completely prove truth..... but theres only 4........ how that completely proves truth !.....Has the Creation Research Society not previously officially stated that the Bible is not only compatible with real science but confirmed not a single word in the bible has ever been disproved by real science ?........In proving truth you take Hawkins " i cant prove theres no God " thing to be a minor gap in the overall picture of things,i take it to be a f****n great big gaping hole as its like saying somebody is a little bit guilty of murder !...... Anyway i think if nothing else this thread has made me realise that listening to articulate intelligent people who have well rounded knowledge from all angles like the lad on the clip i posted is the correct way of learning for folk like me who maybe lean one way further than the other but are not totally convinced either way. Theres nothing to learn from repetetive meaningless bickering so i guess like anyone on any subject you stick to what makes sense and what makes sense to me is this is clearly not the place to get an answer to the Creation v Evolution debate ......not your fault granted so appreciate your thoughts.
