Little Huntress 40
Hi all, I am new to owning a lurcher and there aren't many people around me (that I know of) with running dogs so thought I'd join up to share my experiences, ask for advice and pass the time when I'm stuck in the office wishing I was outside! I've got a bull/greyhound/saluki/whippet dog, 10 months at the mo and almost 27" tts. I've got permission on my landlord's land which surrounds my place (couple of hundred acres) so a fun winter ahead... Planning on taking him out with a friend ferreting fairly soon to give him a taster, beginning to give him a bit more exercise now. Should I be aiming to begin proper fitness work now or leave him a few more months to mature? He is big, strong dog, no one believes his age but I don't want to damage joints if he is still growing. He is keen as mustard to get going! The little huntress

I wouldn't do anything to strenuous at the moment.
