Weihrauch Hw77K V-Mach Kit

Recommended Posts

Hello to all on here. I have recently got back into air rifles after a work colleague's property became overrun with rabbits and he asked if anyone was interested in keeping the numbers down. As a result I purchased an old but tidy HW77k locally. The spring was a bit tired so I purchased a V-Mach 12 fp kit. I have installed it with none of the metal packing washers or the (delrin?) spring preloader. It is showing over the 12 fp on a chrony test. If I leave it cocked for a few days will it weaken the spring enough to bring it under or do I need to cut off spring coils? When I reassembled the rifle there was no preload showing, i.e. the spring guide was flush with the end of the cylinder before I screwed the trigger housing back on. Your advice is appreciated. Driver C.

I had a vmach kit fitted to one of my 97,s i had and it was over the top i put two tins of pellets through her she did come down after she had settled in but i had to get the spring cut down ,it will make no difference leaving her cocked .

put a few pellets through her and then test her again if she is still over the top then you may have to cut the spring better safe than lose it to the plod atvbmac

Thanks Bigmac 97kt. Is it an idea to remove the top-hat spacer as the original Weihrauch set-up didn't have one fitted anyway? Driver C.

Would not hurt to try,how much is she over the top and how long have you had it fitted atvbmac

Took the top hat spacer out. Now hovering around 11 fp. That's with 25 or so RWS Superdomes through it which is what I use out on the fields. Seems to have cured the problem. Many thanks Bigmac and Rez for your advice and input. Off to put it to use now as the sun's out. Hope to be of assistance to you sometime. Cheers. Driver C.

good to hear you sorted it out mate, I had the same problem after fitting a v mach kit in my hw77 it did nearly 14 ftlb (no washers) I must say though transformed an already good rifle to a great one, phoned Steve pope at v mack he requested I sent the spring back for a coil or two removed all sorted in two weeks and shooting a constant 11.4 ftlb with rws superdomes now, great kit and a great service would recommend to anyone.
