Tomhill131 25 Posted August 4, 2014 Report Share Posted August 4, 2014 Might not be a massive help but if you have a co-op or John thorners I picked up a load of chicken at 50p for hall kilo , minced ox heart for around a pound and beef mince with offal for 70p per half kilo dunno if that's cheap but all I'm able to get round by me. squab 2,875 Posted August 4, 2014 Report Share Posted August 4, 2014 kev my local butchers is shite to be honest he wants top dollar for everything and i binned him off years ago,popped into a small village butchers last week on the off chance and feck me i had it right off,me and a lad from work were told he does good cornish pasties so dinner time we head out there to get some,i went from buying a 90p pastie to walking out with over a hundred pound in weight of meat,literaly everything you could ask for,total cost £20 the lot ,i will be visiting my new best friend on a regular basis now .my advice shop around the village butchers,as forest gump says...................you never know what your going to get Quote Link to post

Bit of a drive but well worth it. Gives me the chicken carcass for nothing and minces it for my pup as well as any off cuts. He also put me in touch with the slaughter house for green tripe etc. I got them a big box of tea bags and a jar of coffee. Most butchers I went to wanted top dollar for the stuff they needed to throw in the bin!!! 1 Quote Link to post
