Deputy Dog 28
The lad has got this knife, asking what's best sharpener for it? Bit posh for me like. Lads? Cheers Quote Link to post
moxy 617
Either a good steel or a stone Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
Stone all the way for me ........ 1 Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,935
For an EKA ?? Blade tech. It`s a simple working knife, a stone would take too long for me. and the grind doesn`t suit. Simple blade tech has it sharp in seconds. 1 Quote Link to post
socks 32,253
I hate those blade techs and I enjoy working a blade on stone and finishing off with a honing stone .......... 1 Quote Link to post
Rake aboot 4,935
Using it on deer means you need it sharp right when you want to use it. I wouldn`t have the time or inclination to use a stone. The Blade tec is definitely the best draw through sharpener I`ve used Socks. and at a tenner each I have a couple stashed about so I always have a sharp knife. 1 Quote Link to post

I have used a blade tech mate and they are great on a shitty little knife but I wouldn't use it on a real nice machined blade ........ Quote Link to post
riohog 5,701
I agree with socks , those blade tech thing take a lot of steel off the blade and leave the edge as rough as a badgers arse .if you keep good steel sharp a couple of strokes on a fine wet stone each side of the edge and strop on a leather belt ,, job done Quote Link to post
