What Wood To Avoid When Making A Fork ?

Cheers for advice ;-) L7 I think I might leave that top one alone for a while untill I've done a few more I wouldn't want to bugger that one up ;-)

Yes that's what I think I was just surprised when I looked it up and thought it was uncommon in my area as never hear my mates mention it who are tree surgeons but hey the fork I have from it looks proper smart I might even pay someone else to finish it off I'd hate myself if I cocked it up because it's so nice ;-)

I use a carpet knife, to notch out a track around the top of each arm. About 4 mm wide and 1.5 mm deep. This is then sanded to remove any sharp edges, as is the top of the arms. This track helps trap the bands and gives the finish a much better look.
