skycat 6,173 Posted July 31, 2014 Report Share Posted July 31, 2014 There are two types of umbilical hernia, which is what I guess you are talking about. The one is a sealed hernia, where there is just a little bit of fat that didn't get left inside the abdomen when the umbilical opening closed over after birth, and this is not really a true hernia. The other is a true hernia where you can push the lump back inside the abdomen, which means the opening never closed over properly: these are the ones where it can cause problems if you breed from a bitch with one. If you're not sure which one your bitch has then get a vet to check it out. 3 Quote Link to post
