Kit Kat

Recommended Posts

First write up sorry if it's a bit long winded??

Definitely having a quiet weekend this week. Need the rest I think.

That was on Thursday but the phone rang Sunday from my mate.

"Fancy coming out on the farm later"

"Ye great I'll get my stuff"......, I got the breaking strain of a kit Kat!!!!!!!

So we head out at about 6pm onto one of my mates permissions.

It's a beautiful place with plenty of fields and plenty of opportunities. The owner has issues with wood pigeon, ferrals, corvids, rabbits and fox.

A dream place :-)

We start on up to where we know there's normally a large amount of pigeon but surprising nothing??

So as we're stood out of the pick up a woody comes over my right shoulder.... Boom 12G does it's job.

The farm goes very quiet for a couple of hours not sure if the sun just too bright or wether the other fields cutting have given them better opportunities.

So as light fades about 9 ish we again go for a wander and with only 30 minutes the fields we were in are full of bunnies.

We use the red filter and with my S410 I can see two rabbits just say in the open about 20 yards away.

Thump.... One down

The second just looks at it like it's doing the Macarena and carries on eating...... :-)

Thump second one down.

After a drive around we manage another 6 rabbits all pretty much in the open. I had one with the S410 but the remainder come to the ruger 10/22.

About midnight we decide to call it a day but as we do. "What's that"

Quick scan around with the lamp sees a fox running through a cut field. My mate pulls out the 22.250 and sets up. It's a massive field and the fox is about 160yds away he barks once..... The fox stops........ SNAP and he's down.

A quality night and a good laugh with a mate.

No photo with fox sorry it started hammering down as we picked him up.
