Ideation 8,216
Yes taxi man . . . . you are right. But it IS quite efficient. And cubs eat same as adults. Mostly its good to leave them get to size and have some fun in winter, but others its better to catch them when they are young and dumb and clear them out. Quote Link to post

morton 5,368
Fox was the easiest quarry out there whether it day or night sorry but thats bollocks They where easy to find, easy to shift from below and where easily dealt with by the average lurcher,a good lurcher minced em.The terrain they inhabited was the biggest influence on the ones that used to run again. MAACCY 105
My personal preferance is walking the fields at night with the dog and fox call an adult fox can still be dificult to call in if they have been run on lamp before 1 Quote Link to post

morton 5,368
when being flushed day time there usually being pushed in a certain direction so you can use that to your advantage like bolting them with terriers but under the light i think they are more alert to dangers so they hold the upper hand but i prefer lampingsame here lamping myself, but I'd say there a lot more easier day time while being flushed under a lot more pressure an panic in to a direction off a gun or dogs..PREBAN Daytime they can soon evade the most persistent chaser, they have an habit of using the terrain to their best advantage,in the beam, especially with the assistance of a 4x4 they are at a major disadvantage, lamping was used to make the numbers up that the daytime walkers never could. 1 Quote Link to post
blackmaggie 3,376
but you still have to have a dog/dogs that can make the numbers up and your average lurcher cant do that a few nights a week week after week has as you know any dog can walk at at any time and a few do and flushing day time whether it be woods or when the farmers cutting you can use it has advantage not saying there wont be those that slip away un noticed but like with the terriers you do hold the upper hand Quote Link to post
