Rikweller 14
Hi guys anyone in Kent put a licence application in recently just wondering how long FAC are taking to come through? Cheers Quote Link to post
DeerhoundLurcherMan 997
I think I waited 5 months last year for a grant, about 6 weeks for a variation... Quote Link to post
maktayla 50
Hi mate The best thing to do is give them a quick ring. They won't mind and at least you will get some idea in your head. Personal circumstances can play a factor and so on. I am under South Wales Police and it took around 5 months for my grant. I have seen threads on here where people have had their grant back much sooner. It's a horrible waiting game, but it is well worth it when your licence does come through the post. How long ago did you apply. Is there anything you have had to put down on your certificate that you think may be cause for concern? Quote Link to post
Rikweller 14
I have only just put it in, so am expecting a wait, it took six months for my sgc so was just testing the water really. I have only applied for a .22lr and have a signed land form as well which should help, so fingers crossed nothing against me so to speak lol Quote Link to post
celticrusader 78
Really guys!.. Through my sgc I was told 6 weeks and it was roughly that and my FAC was similar and a variation was 2 weeks just over. Ring them up and keep having ago at them! maktayla 50
You were lucky CC. Yes, mine took 5 months, almost 6. Out of curiosity CC, what Police force do you fall under? Rikweller: When you say, 'you have only just put it in,' How long has it been? Quote Link to post
Rikweller 14
Yeh it's only been in a week, as I say was just seeing if anyone was in the loop, not expecting it anytime this side of Christmas hahahahahah Quote Link to post
celticrusader 78
I come under south wales mate and im only down the road from you but dont think you come under the same area. My mate took 9 months for his the year before last...shocking! That being said If your in the same I can pm you the feo's phone number so you can queiry anything with him. Quote Link to post
maktayla 50
Rikweller You can still phone them. Tell them you are just enquiring as to a time scale and to see if they had much of a back log. Need to plan purchase of a rifle and the land owner has been asking you as well due to the rabbit problem CelticCrusader: I would imagine we come under the same area. That would be great, handy to have. It might be the same person as I have. Quote Link to post
celticrusader 78
There's two guys in my area but I have the feeling you might be in different area for how they do it..I could be wrong mate but giving him a ring would clarify this and he could probably put you in touch with the right guy anyway. Cedric 132
Here in Lancashire my Firearms Department is superb. When I phone the office they are always most helpfull and pretty quick. I see no justification in a force taking 5 or 6 months to process an application. Quote Link to post
celticrusader 78
I've been tol 6-8 weeks was the norm as they're always backlogged, been quicker for me tho on the odd occasion. Edited July 28, 2014 by celticrusader Quote Link to post
J_Edwards 70
5 months for a grant in South Yorkshire. It does seem daft how they take so long. After the FEO's been, he sends the info to head office to be processed and printed. It shouldn't take 4 months to do that. It's probably a combination of many factors: budget cuts, staff shortages, the odd bit of broken equipment, technical failures here and there, and general beaurocracy. Time must just add up, but it's the world we live in. It's definitely worth it when the certificate turns up on your doorstep though Quote Link to post
Skull Hooker 185
I recently got a negative result on a handgun application........10 months after I put it in. My current variation for another rifle has been with them 10 weeks. Still no sign Quote Link to post
hutchey 147
Variation was just under 4 weeks but they are really busy at the moment as 3 people down I think my FLO said 1 Quote Link to post
