buster gonads 862 Posted July 26, 2014 Report Share Posted July 26, 2014 I,v loads of running dog collars but i,v got one i could do with being 1" longer, i,v hung a lamping battery off it in the garage for a couple of weeks and it has'nt moved, is there a better way of stretching leather, regards, buster. unicornleather 60 Posted July 27, 2014 Report Share Posted July 27, 2014 yes as gaffer says, it will go that far but it will lose it's width and end up narrower and the hide will be thinner. If you soak it in water as suggested earlier, it will stretch but then you'll have to replace the fat content you lost through soaking and stretching with good quality leather conditioner (not just oil) 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites
