Last night coming home in the early hours I saw a vixen with a large cub following , the vixen was carrying something she saw me and dropped it. I went and had a look and it was the head neck of and adult fox
Skull Hooker 185
Same as that. I've gone to get em the next morning and I found one that another fox had tried to cache it by burying it. They're not shy of a bit of cannibalism.
neil cooney 10,416
I wouldn't put anything past a vixen when rearing cubs. They're great providers and if other food sources are scarce then I would believe cannibalism would be an option even if the fox probably was a roadkill.
