gnasher16 30,062
Said it a million times.....the further you breed a working dog away from its work the more problems you will have..........man made the Apbt and man destroyed it....we have nobody to blame but ourselves. When you buy a high performance car thats dangerous in the wrong hands you pay a massive insurance premium....which helps to keep idiots away from them. When you buy a high performance dog thats dangerous in the wrong hands you pay nothing....which means anyone can have them. fair point that, out of interest though is there an answer to the problem, not pointed at you personaly gnash just putting the question out there Without killing off dog breeds.....i think its as good an answer as any mate
Ggib 370
banning the bull breeds wont happen theres too many here, its like trying to ban immigrants, no chance People thought along the same lines when it came to a hunting ban.................. and i take it all you mainlanders just packed it in and sold your dogs and hunting gear? In theory Gnash a good idea, the problem is I don't think your average pit owner would insure the dog at all, since the DDA was passed over 20 years ago and all pits were to be neutered, chipped, insured and muzzled, the very fact the breed still exists in Britain is proof that it will be just another law to ignore, probably adding further kudos to owning one....

If you dont insure the dog you get a fine/ban same as car insurance........................like any law it will only work if its enforced properly.................look at the lengths they go to make sure folk have car insurance........if dog insurance laws were enforced even half as strictly as cars you might be surprised what a difference it makes. YOKEL 2,229
there will always be a certain fancy who keep these dogs for the right reason and under the radar, as for the rest of them, i'm with gnash, licence and insure and more importantly ENFORCE! Think you would see the majority move on over night.... Yokel
