walshie 2,804
Recently while grubbing round in some of my Dad's stuff that's been packed away since he died, I came upon this knife. I vaguely recall it from when I was a kid. I believe it's a WW1 British Army Jack Knife, but there's no markngs on it at all regarding year or anything like that, just a maker's name on the blade: Jacobs & Co. Sheffield. I thought these knives were supposed ot have some sort of "acceptance mark" from the army, but this doesn't seem to have one. The "metal thing" that fits over the hinge pin is misisng on one side and makes the blade a bit wobbly. It also appears to have been sharpened within an inch of it's life, but it definitely hasn't been sharpened in the last 17 years. Anyone shed any light on it? Is it worth restoring, selling, or neither? Cheers.

walshie 2,804
Google still reckons it's WW1 army issue. Soldiers would have no use for the spike except for picking food out of their teeth.

walshie 2,804
These two were made by Rodgers, the army one is 1937, still the same pattern, the other is the navy version dated 1938. The army pattern was to change soon after, 1939? This site reckons WW2 army and the similar one navy?
