A smoke now and again to chill or before bed to relax imo is fine, and in moderation wont do much harm, but theres lads i know that cant go an hour without a pipe/joint and its f***ing sad! Our general health is shite compared to 50 years ago, obesity is rampant, fast processed foods are the norm, cigarettes are still smoked like they're harmless, we burn more fossil fuels than ever pumping carcinegens into the atmosphere, we live longer increasing the chance of cancer.
