Flipper_Al 1,012 Posted July 22, 2014 Report Share Posted July 22, 2014 (edited) I must have written tons on this over the years...and played about with most of their products So this is just my opinion on it.. they are very good devices but there built on standard industry parts, Apple dont make any of the bits inside it.... its same as you would get in any PC/Laptop, ie Intel chips foxconn motherboards... etc They run a unix based OS with Apples software/interface on top They do go wrong, but they have a presence in the high street so getting any issue resolved is simple enough People do preceive that by paying more for something that it must somehow be better, also known as the cashebo effect. I have and an Android tablet for the last 18 months, its faster than the lastest iPad, and cost a third of the price... if it goes wrong and its out of warranty, i will by another one(£158)..... When talking about tablets you also got the fact that the Android ones are compatible with all sorts of storage media, accessories and allow you to use them in any way you want and not just in the way the manufacturer thinks you shouldbe using it.. No problem ever with bugs viruses . charger connection is a bit dicky. 65 bucks we're on our second . had it 3 years still sound. We've a Mac pro laptop good kit. Yep, at work were just upgrading 220 Windows Server 2003 R2 as it goes end of life 6/2015, plus we have another 500 servers running Windows 2008 R2 and 2012 servers.
