beast 1,884 Posted July 24, 2014 Report Share Posted July 24, 2014 depends on the size of the field, and the height/type of vegetation. if you offer it out as free grazing you wont have to worry about spending on fencing etc, just make sure you get any big stock off there before it gets wet so they dont poach the ground up. think about buying in some lambs and fattening them on the field, have them slaughtered when the grazing runs out. you will have to make the fence good, but the value of the meat should pay for this, then next year it will be free. fireman 11,029 Posted July 24, 2014 Report Share Posted July 24, 2014 Goats are browsing animals and not grazing animals,all there'll do is wreck the hedges,they haven't got upper teeth the same as sheep as again there browsing animals and unsuitable for sticking in a grass field.Sheep would be better or pigs with rings in there noses.
