marshman 7,757
trash talk hyping a fight either way he's putting bums on seats IF.....and its a big IF.......there was anything underhand gone on here,it could well have something to do with the fact there was nowhere near as many tickets sold for this show as estimated........the reality is Fury is not a ticket seller,he is not liked and has no real fan base........regardless what he thinks of himself no man is bigger than the sport and the BBBOC one way or another are not going to have a man of that calibre being the poster boy for heavyweight boxing fair play ! It just seems to me even if you take people just talking about him on here , it always seems to stir people up and gets people talking boxing . Do you think he would have more if a fan base if he was more humble ? Also gnash the fight mightn't sold out but is there any other heavyweights from this country that sells out venues ? Genuine question . nobody wants to go incase whilst theyre watching the fight his entourage is outside robbing their cars lolol is that you ? Only one man I knew had that much hate for Fury and I thought he was banned lol lol

gnasher16 30,025
fair play ! Well if you look at it Haye/Chisora was a stadium fight that sold out......Fury/Chisora was an arena fight that didnt.......so maybe theres your answer, not only that it was an arena fight on Fury,s own manor......if he cant sell out an arena he certainly cant sell out a stadium. Ive said from day 1 the mistake Fury has made is not surrounding himself with boxing people be that trainers or advisors.....with every respect he doesnt seem the brightest of lads so good advice is essential when building a career, look at the clean cut way Joshua is being promoted who are the BBBOC going to want as the British face of heavyweight boxing an Olympic Champion MBE or a foul mouthed gypsy ?............ its almost as though Fury plays on the whole traveller thing the way he talks about " fighting to the death " and this " bareknuckle heritage " its absolute nonsense the man has never had a bareknuckle fight in his life !..... Does talking this way make him any more " traveller " than say Billy Joe Saunders ?......Billy Joe is every bit as brash and exciteable as Fury is but you dont hear him coming out with all this nonsense and Bill is well liked in the boxing community,so whats the difference, the difference is Billy Joe surrounded himself with good knowledgeable experienced boxing people from day 1,the advice he gets is to further his boxing career not create a silly image nobody apart from himself is interested in. Anyway looks like Fury has found an opponent for saturday now.....could still be an interesting fight its all going to depend on what sort of shape Ustinov is in.
zigzag dan 784
There seems to be some myth around boxing that travellers are tougher than a normal boxer , several of the gyms near me will not have them in , the boxing gym my son works in , they went in the sauna and pissed everywhere , dirty b*****ds ! Ive seen gypsies turn up and demand their kids are put into the ring to spar on their first night , which usually ends in the coach putting them in with his best lad and the traveller gets carried out ! Saw that happen once and the kids dad and 2 uncles then challanged the coach ( who had fought for Brtish belt in 80s ) , so they were then spanked also ! I have met some decent travellers in the game , but sadly they are a minority , the others need to realise that turning up for a fight in Farahs , dealer boots and a vest doesnt frighten everyone !

zigzag dan 784
Marshman , I know what you are saying , but round here , if you don't set the ground rules down within in a week they try to run the gym , then decent lads keep away , seen it happen loads of times .

MIK 4,756
The only reason he is a contender is because of his mouth and all the hype he brings with him .....its not because of the level of competitors he has fought ....he will be found out soon enough .... AKA-BRINDLE 879
Seems to me like Fury is the big baddie that everyone loves to hate! he's not doing or done anything else that a lot of other fighters haven't done, trash talk hyping a fight either way he's putting bums on seats wether that's to see him get he's arse whipped or to see him win. As for Chisora it sounds like he called the bet on and Fury just upped the anti then he's arsehole went , to me it just shows that he was only in it for the pay check and if anybody is gonna be disliked for having the public over it should be Chisora ! I remember my old man and uncles watching Clay/Ali and all they wanted to see was someone shut his mouth...its nothing new what Furys doing...just trying to sell the fight...years back i saw a very young Tyson Fury fight in a cow shed in front of a bunch of farmers...(local joke it was the royal norfolk show ground)...thought he was a talented kid...he was down here a few weeks back to see his younger brothers pro debut...he comes across alot differnt outside the ring..(certainly cant remember him spitting in anyones face!)....i dont think we seen the best of him yet...shame to see him messed around like this...he needs to keep busy...i think the heavyweight divisions looks ok right now...Stiverne looked good in his last fight...Wilder looks an exciting prospect...and Tyson Fury in the mix...Chisora may of laid off the Hobnobs but it wernt gonna be an all time classic...all Chisora was ever gonna do was back Fury up wildly throwing them looping overhand rights...to me Chisora is last in a long line of black lumps(francis, williams, skelton, sprott, ect, ect) that just wanted to wrestle and cuddle their way to a decision...at least Fury will box...anyway got the skybox set to record sky1....1.30am...Golovkin-v-Geale...Gennady Golovkin one exciting up and coming fighter. I can understand and see why people don't like him because he's gobby and talk shite. Yes he mightn't have fought anyone but that's not for the want of trying. And yes he will get found out but at the moment for whatever reason hes the best heavyweight in this country ! Oh and take it from me it wasn't just hes mouth that got him there ?. blackmaggie 3,376
well the fight has been called of hughie fury taken ill and in hospital
gnasher16 30,025
To compare the hype of Muhammed Ali and Tyson Fury is about as ridiculous as comparing them as fighters !.......As the greatest fighter in heavyweight history during the greatest era in heavyweight history you allow Ali a bit of leeway in terms of his mouth......A fighter like Fury who has done nothing in the weakest ever era of heavyweight boxing is simply embarrassing, and if its hype to sell a fight its not working as the ticket sales for this event proved ! A fighter like Fury takes the spotlight away from good genuine up and coming fighters and thats a shame.....Billy Joe Saunders is fighting for a European Title tonight in one of the most hotly contested divisions in world boxing yet he,s not even topping the bill ! The sooner they put an upper weight limit on heavyweight boxing the sooner we will stop this latest trend of freak basketball player type fighters and return to a bit of normality !
